What to Pack When Moving Into a Furnished KL Apartment
One of the best things about a properly furnished mid-term rental: you barely need to bring anything. Here's exactly what's already there and what to add.

What RGP Homes Units Already Have
Beds and bedding, towels, full kitchen kit (pots, pans, utensils, plates, glasses), coffee maker, dining table and chairs, sofa and living area furniture, wardrobes and storage, TV, 100Mbps+ WiFi, washing machine. All utilities connected from day one.
What to Bring
- Power adapters: Malaysia uses UK-style three-pin plugs (Type G). British and Australian plugs work directly. US and European plugs need adapters — buy before you arrive.
- Personal medications for the first week — everything available locally, but brand names differ
- One or two personal items — a photograph, a specific coffee cup, a book. Small things that shift a furnished apartment to 'my home in KL'
- Work equipment specific to your role — external monitors, ergonomic keyboards
KL-Specific Practical Notes
- Light clothing — KL is 27–33°C year-round. A light layer for over-airconditioned offices is useful.
- One pair of closed-toe shoes + sandals — covers most situations
- Modest clothing — for mosque, temple, or more traditional area visits
What to Buy Easily (and Cheaply) in KL
Virtually everything: groceries from Village Grocer or Jaya Grocer, pharmacy needs from Guardian or Watsons, electronics from Harvey Norman or Lazada (next-day delivery), clothing from Pavilion or Mid Valley.
